Ben DiPaola- founder, owner

Ben is a personal trainer certified by the National Academy of Sports Medicine, with over 10 years of experience in the field, and holds his B.S. in Exercise Physiology.

As a prior service member in the United States Air Force, he was inspired to be passionate for health and fitness. He got his first Personal Trainer certification back in 2011, since then, he's worked with many people ranging from 14 to 86 years old in public gyms, hospital rehabilitation centers, and in-home settings.

He's proud to provide a high level of value to his clients - he meets with them  anywhere from 2-3 times per week, stays in close contact with them via phone and email, provides individualized fitness programs, nutrition coaching, and is always available for additional support and guidance.

He advocates living a healthy and physically active lifestyle that can not only make you feel and look great, but reduces the risk of disease and health problems long-term. He regularly analyzes the latest research in the health field, attends health conferences, and completes new specialty courses to stay up to date on the most current information.

He enjoys working with many different people, who bring different personalities and goals to him. He emphasizes proper form on all exercises to prevent injury and improve progression. He strategically uses many types of training within his programming, such as strength, muscle-building, balance, core, interval, cardiovascular, flexibility, rehab, and functional training; all dependent on each individual.

Anthony Groves

Anthony Groves is a personal trainer certified by the National Academy of Sports Medicine, with a B.S. in Criminal Justice from Eastern Kentucky University.

He always knew he wanted to serve people in some way- at first he thought it was through service in a law enforcement career, just before being introduced into the fitness industry, which was when he decided to commit to personal training and helping people with their fitness goals and nutritional needs. He’s also had the privilege of being mentored by some of the best in the fitness and nutrition industry, which compliments what he can bring to his clients.

In addition to personal training, he has quickly worked his way up from a full time associate for NuHealth Supplements to becoming their Operations Manager. He has a wide knowledge of training, nutrition and supplementation which he can individualize for anyone based on their specific goals.

He prioritizes instructing proper body biomechanics with his clients through the use of free weights, machines, bodyweight, and cable exercises. His main priority is helping all of his clients reach their goals through professional one on one training sessions in a safe and comfortable environment.

Anthony practices what he preaches in his own lifestyle and has a passion for helping everyone. He has a way of building great rapport with his clients while making them feel comfortable, while holding them accountable to their goals.

Anthony is available for one on one personal training and online fitness and nutrition coaching.

Andy Tatum

Andy has been fascinated with health and wellness for the majority of his life, a journey that began at the age of 17,  going into his junior year of High School, he realized he was heading into the wrong direction as far as health was concerned, following in the footsteps of most of his family. he determined at that point that he would not head down that path of self-inflicted ill health.

He joined a gym, and fought to lose 25 pounds from the start of his junior year to Christmas break that year. He never looked back, and only grew in his passion for health, wellness, fitness, and nutrition over the years.

Andy has worked at Baptist Health Lexington for over 23 years now, having served as a Physical & Occupational Therapy Tech for his first 6.5 years, and as a Registered Respiratory Therapist since 2008. He also holds a BA in Psychology from the University of Kentucky.

Testimonials

Hiring Ben as my personal trainer was one of the best decisions I did for myself. Ben is very supportive and doesn’t give up even when you want to. He was very flexible and able to match my schedule. The room we would work out in wasn’t the biggest, he was would plan our exercises that I was able to do at home and made the best out of my situation. Ben is very passionate about helping others and is a great personal trainer

I've been training with Ben for about 8 months and has proven to be one of the best decisions I've made to get back into shape. Ben has the perfect balance of continually pushing me to step up my workouts, yet at the same time isn't aggressive/obnoxious about it like other trainers in my past. He's extremely knowledgeable about fitness and nutrition, and does a great job of changing up my routine to maximize each and every workout. I would highly recommend Ben to anyone looking for a personalized training experience that will surely whip you into shape!

6 months after I had my hip replaced I realized I needed to get in better shape. I wanted to loose weight and gain more flexibility. I met with Ben 2x a week for several months and we worked on flexibility, stretching and weights. Ben was attentive, respectful and helpful in getting me to the point where I could actually bend my hip with out pain.

It has been a well known fact that exercise has positive effects on lipid profiles and body composition, which influence overall heart health and other factors. This study shows the positive correlation of exercise modalities and these health markers. Poor lipid values can contribute to heart attack, stroke, diabetes, gallstones, thyroid malfunction, and hardening of the arteries. Lipid profiles consist of total cholesterol (TC), high density lipoprotein (HDL), low density lipoprotein (LDL), and triglycerides (TG). Other measurements taken in the study were body fat % (BF) and body mass index (BMI). Many factors can affect lipid profile such as obesity, family history, sedentary lifestyle, poor lifestyle choices, age and race. This study used a group of young woman participants ages 20-26 with few underlying health issues to complete 8 weeks of a controlled exercise intervention. Each group completed training 3 times a week for 45 to 60 min each workout, some working up to 70 minutes. The modalities used in one group was resistance training using weights, machines, and bodyweight exercises. The second group completed endurance training primarily using a treadmill, for the ease of being able to manipulate speed, intensity, and incline. The last control group did no exercise. Results showed improvements in lipid profile and body composition through several different measures. During the study, other lifestyle factors such as diet was also recorded to better help understand the outcome. Results/ take home message: • Endurance and resistance training showed improvements in all lipid profiles • Endurance and resistance training showed improvements in body fat and BMI • A combination of resistance and endurance exercise 3 times a week for at least 45 min is beneficial • Be aware of the things we do have control over- exercise, diet, and lifestyle choices. • A group from a University in Brazil reviewed the literature on the effects of physical exercise on the immune system. • They reviewed studies that suggest that regular physical exercise is associated with decreased mortality from pneumonia and influenza, suggesting that it may be helpful against COVID19. • They reviewed studies that showed that moderate exercise enhanced immune response. • Although further studies will still be done to prove that exercise helps prevent symptoms or problems from COVID19 - this review supports the use of exercise to improve immune, cardiac, and pulmonary function. Take away: • Moderate exercise improves immune, cardiac and pulmonary function. • Symptoms and mortality from COVID19 occur more commonly in people with other medical problems. • Although it will require further studies, working to reduce obesity, increase heart health, increase lung function, and enhance the immune system with regular moderate training may be important to reduce problems from COVID19.
